Civita Castellana

Civita Castellana is a municipality in the province of Viterbo built on the ruins of Falerii Veteres, city of the Falisci. The territory that hosts it is characterized by the presence of red tuff originating from the eruptions of the Vicano volcano. There are numerous religious and civil architectures, among which the Renaissance and Baroque buildings stand out. Inside Fort Sangallo, a tourist and cultural hub, you can visit the national museum of Agro Falisco, inaugurated in 1977. Another architectural work of great interest is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore or Duomo. Civita Castellana is one of the most important industrial ceramic production centers in Italy.
