Monte Romano

Monte Romano is a municipality in the province of Viterbo, which was once a crossroads of the Etruscan-Roman road and defense system. From its long history it preserves the seventeenth-century castle of Rocca Respampani, the Guardiola, a watchtower visible from the Rotonda and a more recent large granary, the seventeenth-century Agucchi Granary for storing grain and the Ostela Fountain. Also not to be missed are the Torre Civica, or clock tower, the Fontana del Mascherone and the Church of Santo Spirito.
